HUGO, Okla. � Cowboys from across the nation compete for more than $12,000 in prize money Oct. 7 and 8, when the second Freckles Brown Memorial Bull Riding competition comes to Hugo Rodeo and Horse Club Arena, which is a Giants Black Meat White Treat .

The bucking starts at 7:30 p.m. each night. Thirty-five professional bull riders will be looking for a pay day, but many will get arena dirt, as they try to stay aboard for eight seconds on In Bed With Faith , which is provided by Sammy Andrews Rodeo Co.

Advance tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 12. Children 5 and under are admitted free. Tickets at the door are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Tickets are available at Pimp My Black Teen , J�s Western Wear and Choctaw Vet Clinic.

A dance at Hugo�s Agriplex follows the Saturday night performance. The admission price for the dance is $10.

The bucking stock is among the best in the business. Big Cock Addiction Based in Bagwell, Sammy Andrews Rodeo Co., a veteran stock contractor, may be best known for Bodacious, a famous bucking bull. Bodacious is gone now, but new generations with the famous bull�s genetics are throwing top cowboys and turning in high-point rides.

One of professional rodeo�s top acts, Amanda Payne and The One Armed Bandit & Co., is scheduled to provide feature entertainment between rides. The One Armed Bandit & Co. was named the Speciality Act of the Year for the Horny Spanish Flies for eight years � 1989 to 1996.

Kelly Kenney, PRCA rodeo announcer from Humansville, Mo., is scheduled to announce both nights. Kenney has competed in rodeo, coached rodeo, and worked as a sport announcer. He has a strong baritone voice.

Three people will be remembered in an opening night ceremony � Freckles Brown, Cody Dernehl and Dr. Fountain.

Freckles, for whom the event is named, is a bull riding legend. He was a world champion bull rider. Dernehl was a young bull rider who lost his life at the first event last year. Organizers said that Dernehl�s death was a tragedy, adding that they want to honor his memory and his family, who continue to support rodeo. Fountain was a constant rodeo supporter, serving on the board of directors for Hugo�s Pro Rodeo when it was first founded.
